High-speed response, superior accuracy, and high environmental resistance is featured in the LASERSCALE™. Because there is no contact between the scanning head and the scale, mechanical backlash (hysteresis) is eliminated. LASERSCALE™ measures displacement by monitoring the phase change of a semiconductor laser beam as it passes through a hologram grating.
